In December 2025, FisPro DRC provided free treatment to 35 survivors of obstetric fistula (23 in Butembo and 12 in Kinshasa).
In Butembo, the construction of the 30-bed ward dedicated to obstetric fistula, donated by the Fistula Foundation, is progressing very well. The inauguration ceremony will be on 12th March 2026.
This month, our doctors from Kinshasa attended the 19th National Congress of the Congolese Association of Urology from 12th to 13th december, 2025.
Noted they also joined the 10th National Congress of the Congolese Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SCOGO) from 16th to 18th December 2025. On this occasion, the director of FisPro DRC, Dr. Wasingya Kasereka Lucien, presented our activities and informed the public about our various obstetric fistula treatment sites.
As part of community awareness and mobilization efforts, briefings were organized in churches, women's groups, and health facilities during antenatal, postnatal and preschool clinics. Community medias were used to teach the Congolese community about the symptoms of obstetric fistulas and our treatment sites.
